THE RACE
Overview
Runnaisance Man is a 48-hour multi-sport endurance relay through some of the most beautiful and challenging wilderness in Northern Arizona. It consists of 15 relay legs lasting between 1.5 - 6 hours each (typically 2.5 hours). Each relay team consists of 10 people, who complete legs in pairs of 2. Thus, each pair will complete 3 legs of the race, with about 12-16 hours between legs.

The relay legs involve running, scrambling, technical climbing, road, cross country, and downhill mountain biking, canyoneering, swimming, and stand up paddle boarding.
Date
June 14-16, 2019 The event kicks off Friday at Noon and finishes Sunday afternoon.
Cutoff time: Do not start a new leg after sunset on Sunday – come to Wanderlust and share your war stories.

Route
The route forms a giant tangled mess between Flagstaff and Sedona starting at Buffalo Park in Flagstaff and ending at nearby Wanderlust Brewing Company. From Buffalo Park, the route goes south and drops into Oak Creek Canyon; it then heads west and back up into the Secret Mountain wilderness; it then drops again into west Sedona, doing a grand loop of running, climbing, and biking, before popping back up onto the rim. The route then winds its way northeast back to Flagstaff past Mormon Lake and Lake Mary and then follows the AZ trail to Mount Elden. From there it is a final romp around the San Francisco peaks and Mount Elden back to the final celebration at Wanderlust Brewing Company.

How do I sign up?
There are no entrance fees or race numbers or prizes. If you want to do the route, you are free to do it at any time. Afterward, email me the results and I'll put you in the record books. I'd love to meet up at a bar and hear of your adventures.

However, on the dates above, a bunch of people get together for a group start at Buffalo Park. If you want to be included on the list of teams, or tracked on the live race tracking site, use the contact form and we'll get in touch with details and updates.
